Salzkammergut

The Salzkammergut extends over the provinces of Upper Austria, Salzburg and Styria. This cultural region became one of the first tourist attraction areas in Austria in the course of the 19th century. Emperor Franz Joseph I regularly spent his summer holidays here with his family. The Salzkammergut is home to picturesque lakes, including Lake Traunsee, Lake Hallstätter See and Lake Attersee. The interplay of water and mountains makes this region unique and popular with tourists. Nature and sports enthusiasts will find ideal conditions. All lakes have public bathing beaches and water sports facilities. Waterfront promenades invite you to stroll. Cultural events take place throughout the year.
