Hallstätter See

Lake Hallstatt is one of the most beautiful attractions in the region. It is located at an altitude of 508 meters and has an area of 8.55 square kilometres with a maximum depth of 125 meters. Popular summer recreational activities include swimming, hiking, boating and diving. A visit in winter is also attractive: walking, snowshoeing, skiing. Near the lake, there are numerous attractions, such as the Salt Worlds, Dachstein Giant Ice Caves, Dachstein Gletcher, Mammoth Caves and many more. A visit to the historic town of Hallstatt is also recommended. The region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been inhabited since the Bronze Age.
