Naturpark Nordwald

The Nordwald Nature Park is located between Bad Großpertholz and Karlstift in Austria displaying a Nordic-Scandinavian character. The main features of this area are extensive evergreen forests, beautiful natural moorlands and island-like farmlands and meadows. Again and again, you can find special rock formations. On the lookout tower on the Schwarzenberg, you can see this natural landscape with an impressive view. On hot days you can cool off in the Stierhübelteich, a natural jewel near Karlstift.

For families, a visit to the rare farm animals, such as the dwarf goats or the Bohemian Forest sheep is fun and enjoyable. These are located in the village of Scheiben. The entrance is free, the animal food can be bought directly at the animal enclosure.

There is a 127km hiking trail in the nature park. Among them are themed trails such as the fruit trail, the visual trail or the wild herbs trail. For mountain bikers and cyclists there are also some impressive circuits.
